Official Chief & Council Meeting: Budget & Strategic Plan Review and Approval
At the Council meeting on Thursday, March 27, at 9:30am in the KKC, Chief & Council will review & approve the 25-26 Annual Operating Budget and 2024-29 Strategic Plan update. Community members are welcome to attend in person, or virtually via Zoom. Update on the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Project
In alignment with the Comprehensive Development Plan, Land Use Plan and Strategic Plan, Malahat Nation is continuing its work towards upgrading the water and wastewater treatment system on reserve. These upgrades will resolve issues associated with the current system that is at end of life and will allow community housing projects as well as commercial developments in designated areas such as the Business Park to occur. What’s Happening? The Malahat Nation is working with TELUS and F3 Networks to bring fiber optic internet to all homes and businesses in the community by July 2025. This fiber connection will allow for faster, more reliable internet, TV, and home security services.
